Baking 'Sachertorte'

Every country has its specialities, so does Austria too, where you can get the delicious Sachertorte in its capital Vienna. Here is how to make it on your own.

We all love Sachertorte. It is delicious, the way I do it not too sugary and made in about one and a half hour. I made a video of how to do it.

What you need is:

  • a round baking pan (I used a cast iron pot)
  • 150g selfraising flour
  • 150g butter
  • 150g dark chocolate
  • 100g sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 30g icing sugar
  • some jam of your choice
  • dark chocolate as couverture
